This paper is concerned with the reliable state feedback controller design problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with strictly redundant actuators. The uncertainties are described by norm bounded condition. By using dissipative theory, a procedure of designing reliable nonlinear controller is presented on the basis of the solutions of the Hamilton Jacobi inequality. The resulting closed loop system is reliable in the sense that the performance (i.e., internal stability and H ∞ attenuation) of the closed loop system is guaranteed not only when all actuators are operational, but also when any actuator experiences an outage.
