In CAD analysis of geometric shapes, triangular Bezier surfaces are more difficult to use than rectangular Bezier patches. This paper introduces two algorithms for triangular Bezier surfaces. The first algorithm describes two methods including the small curvature surface fitting method and the large curvature surface fitting method. The second algorithm proposes a method to explicitly transform a rectangular Bezier patch mesh into an equivalent triangular Bezier patch. A recursion equation can be used to increase the triangular Bezier patch mesh density. Triangular Bezier surface algorithms are useful for engineers engaged in reverse engineering and have been validated in colour CRT correcting lens design.
