话语竭力是语言交际中话语连续与否的关键因素。若听话者没能领会说话者的真正竭力，或故意答非所问，常会产生幽默的语言。
The speaker's intention is the key to the understanding of his utterance. If the hearer fails to catch it or purposefully misinterprets the speaker's meaning , he may answer the speaker's question in a very strange way and the hearer's utterance will be humorous as well as confusing.
