The cooling technique is an important and crucial problem with the heat treatment of metals.The applications and developments of polymer quenchants are of great concern to the cooling technique.The polymer quenchants of PVA,PAG,PSA,PVP,PEOX,PEG,PMI and PAM have been outlined.In addition,we pay regard to the effect of some polymer quenchants on the cooling mechanism.And finally,the maintenance of the polymer quenchants has been dealt with.
