摘要
本文介绍了由微道板构成的透射型定时探测器,得到的飞行时间系统的时间分辨为280ps。并对进一步改善时间特性作了讨论。
A transmission timing detector consisting of a micro channel plate (MCP)has been designed and tested. The secondary electrons ejected from a thin carbon foil by heavy ion passing through were accelerated, then bent at 90° by an electrostatic mirror field onto surface of the MCP and multiplied, finally a start time signal was generated. Together with a stop time signal by a surface barrier semiconductor detector, the time resolution of TOF system was measured to be 280ps. A suggestion of improving its time property was discussed.
