摘要
本文从基础科学、核能及核工程、核医学等几个方面回顾了20世纪中子科学的成就,概述了中子科学研究平台的发展趋势。作者认为:(1)中子科学在20世纪对科学技术的发展和人类社会经济发展作出了举世公认的贡献;(2)中子科学研究平台——中子源的强度和品质决定了中子科学研究的广度、深度和水平,21世纪中子科学研究平台的发展趋势是强流加速器驱动的散裂中子源;(3)这样一个先进的中子科学装置将覆盖21世纪大量的科学前沿问题和国家迫切需要解决的重大工程技术问题;(4)根据国家的诸多需要,建设一台先进的多用途的加速器驱动的散裂中子源非常必要。
The achievements of neutron science in 20th century are reviewed from developments of fundamental science,nuclear energy,nuclear engineering,
and nuclear medical science. The trend of development for neutron science research platform is summarized. The conclusion has been reached as
follows: the universally acknowledged contribution has been made by neutron science to the development of sciences & technologies, society & economy in the past century; the strength and quality of neutron science research platform, neutron source, are decisive for the range, depth and level of neutron science research; a high current accelerator driven spallation neutron source is a new generation research platform for neutron science research in 21st century;this advanced neutron science facility will cover many frontier science fields and solve many important engineering problems urgently posed by the country development; based on the demand of national development, it is necessary and urgent to construct an advanced and multi-purpose neutron science facility, the accelerator driven spallation neutron source.
