摘要
乡村问题是自民国时期就已经备受各界关注的研究领域。20世纪五六十年代萧公权先生对19世纪中国乡村问题的讨论,影响深远。而20世纪中国之乡村问题,由于蕴含博大、头绪繁杂、多重变革且结论多有歧异与论争,目前可见的区域化、微观性和个案研究居多,尚未见有较为系统性的知识建构与长程研究。王先明教授近著《乡路漫漫:20世纪之中国乡村(1901-1949)》的出版,一定程度上弥补了这一学术缺憾。可以说,无论从谋篇结构、问题意识、理论方法、还是历史解释上,《乡路漫漫》一书将大大加深中国乡村史研究的空间与内涵,是一部较具价值、高水平的学术著作。
Since the period of the Republic of China,the rural issues have been a research fieldkwhich attracts attentions from all social sectors.From the 1950s to the 1960s,Mr.Xiao Gongquan's discussion on China's rural issues had farreaching influences.Nevertheless,the problem of Chinese countryside in the 20th century entertained profound connotations,complex clues,multifarious changes as well as ambiguous and controversial conclusions.Thus,the current research mainly focuses on regional,microcosmic and case studies,instead of systematic knowledge construction and long-term study.Prof.Wang Xiangming's latest book A Long Way to .Go:Rural Changes in China,1901--1949to some extent makes up for this academic defect.This book broadens the space and connotation of the study of Chinese rural history,either from the perspective of textual structure,issue consciousness,theoretical approach or in terms of historical interpretation.It is a valuable and high-level academic work.
