As a kind of transversal composite element,the advantages of steel concrete composite beam result from full utilization of two materials. Therefore,it can be effectively applied in long span walkside bridge.Several structure design plans are proposed and compared with one another,which are based on the example of walkside bridge for Henggang Town government in Shenzhen City,and some advice are valuable for application of composite beam in such field.
