On the Quality Promotion of Weak Colleges and Universities in the Popularization of Higher Education

摘要 弱势高校的弱势主要表现在师资匮乏、经费不足、水平不高、竞争力差等方面,多种弱势形成的原因主要是层次性、行业性、偏远性、非重点性。摆脱弱势的关键是激发内在动力,发展自己的优势和特色。 Faced with the popularization of higher education, the authors originally put forth the concept of weak colleges and universities and the promotion of their quality. The concept's connotations is explained. With a correct understanding of their relative advantages and opportunities for development, weak colleges and universities should base the promotion on making use of their internal power and optimizing their external surroundings.
