Based on meteorological data collected in Changji Groundwater Balance Test Station of Xinjiang Geological Prospecting Bureau, the daily, monthly and yearly potential evapotranspiration in plain area of northern slope of Tianshan Mountains are calculated with revised Penman formula. The change characteristics of daily, seasonal and annual potential evapotranspiration are analyzed systematically, and an experience formula of calculating potential evapotranspiration from water surface evaporation of 20 evaporation pan is given in this paper.
