摘要
诗歌翻译用韵与否是学术界悬而未决的问题 ,但对于《诗经》而言 ,行文达到同样水准的译诗中 ,韵体可为上品。这是因为《诗经》有其特殊性 :音韵合谐 ,节奏齐整 ,加之迭章手法 ,使诗歌首首有韵 ;其体裁与音乐相配 ,因而诗歌可以配乐吟唱。而且 ,其中的诗歌起初是靠口头传诵而得以流传。通过对《小雅·采薇》的 3种非韵体译文和 4种韵体译文管窥《诗经》翻译的韵脚处理得失 ,阐述了音韵美在《诗经》
Whether rhyme should be employed in translating poems is of long time controversy. However,in the translation of the Book of Poetry,rhyme is preferred,as the Book of poetry is characterized by a strong sense of rhyme and consequent musical beauty which made it possible for the poems to be spread orally far and wide in the early history.Rhyme helps to recreate stylistic beauty more faithfully,revitalize the renderings more effectively and appeal to readers more than otherwise,as can be seen in a comparative study of the renderings of We Gather Fern,the Book of Odes in this thesis.
