摘要
英文 ethnic group一词传入中国并以“族群”、“民族”等中文概念广为流行 ,但是这一词语在美国等西方国家是如何应用以及应用于哪些群体却很少引起人们的关注。本文从美国等西方国家学界与官方应用 ethnic group的实证为例 ,论述和分析了西方国家应用这一词语的确指对象及其在理论和实践方面的矛盾。同时分析了 ethnic group作为西方“族际政治”话语的社会背景和作用。以期说明在引进这一概念和应用于本土实践时需要全面认识其含义 ,从而实现符合中国国情的科学吸收与借鉴。
By taking the using of 'ethnic group' in academic circle and in official source in the U.S. and other Western nations as an example, this paper expounds the authentic indication of this term and the contradiction in theory and practice, and makes an analysis of the social background and the function of 'ethnic group' as an ethnic politics term, to illustrate that it is necessary to havea full understanding of this term when it is introduced to China. Therefore the scientific assimilation and using for reference that conforms to the national conditions will be achieved.
