摘要
当今高速发展的信息时代特征极大地影响了词汇的产生与变化。通过在原型范畴理论框架下对国内外主流英语学习网站提供的2012—2013年英语网络新词进行分析研究,发现该类词汇具有家族相似性、范畴内成员地位差异性和范畴边界模糊性等特征。基于例证分析探讨了网络新词所反映的现代社会个人主义文化特征以及整个社会的快餐文化转向,对研究社会语言文化发展趋向具有一定的启发意义。
The rapid development of the information age has substantial impact on the births and changes of buzzwords. This paper studies the interact buzzwords of 2012 and 2013 from major domestic and overseas English learning websites in the framework of prototype theory to find their features, e.g. family resemblance, difference in the status of the members within prototype, boundary ambiguity, etc. This study shows the individualism orientation and fast-food culture of modern society underlying the phenomenon of buzzwords, which has implications for research into the development of language, culture and society.
