OBJECTIVE To detect and compare the mass fraction of water soluble, ethanol soluble and volatile ether-soluble extractives from the Atractylodes japonica Koidz.METHODS The content of extractives were measured by the appendix XA of pharmacopoeia of the Peoples Republic of China(edition2010)volumnⅠ.RESULTS As compared with the raw medicinal materials, the mass fractions of water soluble extractives were decreased 52.43% and 47.70% by merceration,35.80% and 25.54% by hot extraction methods, and one of ethanol soluble extractives were decreased 38.07% and 25.18% by merceration,43.54%and 35.28% by hot extraction methods, and one of ether soluble extractives were decreased 19.66%and 21.87%in the samples pretreated with water and rice water, respectively. When the medicinal materials were pretreated with water and rice water at 80℃,100℃and 120℃for 20 min,the mass fractions of the water and ethanol soluble extractives changed 0.75%-6.02%,and one of ether soluble extractives were reduced 28.24%,37.40%and 53.43%,and one of the water and ethanol soluble extractives changed 0.26%-5.49%,and one of ether soluble extractives were reduced 18.11%,33.07%and 37.00%,respectively.CONCLUSIONAtractylodes japonica Koidz preparation with rice water can prevent the loss of water-soluble and ethanol-soluble extractives. In addition, the extraction methods is benefit for reduce the loss of volatile components by heating treatment.
