摘要
被动语态作为科技英语的一个显著且重要的语法特征,既是科技英语文体和语法研究的重点,也是农业科技英语写作、翻译和教学的难点之一。通过自建FAO农业英语语料库,本文利用语料库技术对FAO农业科技英语中被动语态的使用情况进行了研究,并简要讨论了其大量使用被动语态的原因。
The passive voice is one of significant and important grammatical feature of English for science and technology （EST）. It is not only a focus in style and grammar research-study of science and technology English, hut also one of the difficulties in the writing, translation and teaching of agricultural science and technology English. With the help of corpus software, this study analyzes the usage of passive voice in the salf-buih FAO Agricultural English corpus, and briefly discusses the reasons of its extensive use of passive voice.
