OBJECTIVE To investigate the influencing factors for peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC )-associated infections and put forward prevention countermeasures so as to control the infections . METHODS The clinical observation was carried out for 150 tumor patients who underwent the PICC ,and regularly tracking was conducted after the discharge .RESULTS Of the 150 tumor patients who underwent the catheter in-dwelling ,the CRI occurred in 12 cases with the infection rate of 8 .0% .The influencing factors for infections in-cluded the physical condition of the patients ,use of drugs ,nurse's operation ,catheter indwelling time ,and sterile environment .CONCLUSION The incidence of PICC-associated infections is high ,which is associated with multiple factors ;it is necessary to take effective intervention measures in response to the related risk factors so as to reduce the incidence of CRI .
