As one of the archetypes of the image of long (Chinese Dragon), dogs are closely related to it in the cognitive psychology of the Ancient Chinese, so many terms containing "long(龙 )" for dogs had emerged as the times required with the drive of the psychological needs to pursue elegance and to avoid vulgarity. As an elegant term for dogs, "wulong(乌龙)" was first used to refer to black dogs, and then as a general substitute name for dogs by using allusion. Influenced by the adultery between the hostess and the servant in the original story, "wulong (乌龙 )" in the literary works after Tang Dynasty often implicated romantic love, with its stable lexical meaning "dogs".
