摘要
科技文体以传播和推广科学技术知识为目的,常常用于表述科学原理、规律、概念以及各事物之间错综复杂的关系,需要客观地陈述事实和揭示真理。科技英语有自己独特的句法特点,说明事理、提出设想、探讨问题或推导公式时常常涉及到各种关系,如前提、条件和场合等,因而从句较多。英语的定语从句是各种从句中最复杂、最难译的一种从句。英语的定语从句结构上的纷繁复杂,在一定程度上增加了理解和翻译的难度。因此在翻译时,要根据具体情况具体分析。
Articles of science and technology can disseminate and promote the specialized knowledge.They are often used to express the science principles, regulations, concepts and complex relations among all kinds of things. They should state the facts and truth objectively. English for science and technology has its own unique sentence structures. It often involves in various relations, premises, conditions and situations when it dictates the facts, assumptions, questions and formulas. Therefore, attributive clauses are often used.The attributive clause is a most complicated and difficult clause. Its clause is so difficult that it raises the difficulties of understanding and translation. So it is important to analyze the clauses varying from the different situation when translating them.
