摘要
年度报告对于图书馆的宣传推广具有其他媒介不可比拟的作用。英美国家的图书馆,出台年度报告已有100多年的历史,国内图书馆在这方面的实践时间虽然不长,但近年发展迅猛,体例和形式有传承、有创新。年度报告所披露的信息全面、系统、真实、准确、及时,打开了图书馆与外界沟通交流的窗口,搭建了图书馆宣传推广的平台。一方面作为重要的历史史料,见证了图书馆的成长;另一方面通过馆务公开,体现了接受社会公众监督的诚意。年度报告还具有通过各项数据、荣誉的宣传推广,激励读者和馆员,通过捐赠记录,在宣传推广中唤醒更多的善举的作用。
The annual report plays an incomparable role in library publicity and promotion. The libraries in Britain and the United States have a tradition of releasing annual reports for more than a century. In contrast, libraries in China have a comparatively shorter history but have been developing at a fast pace for the past years with their own unique style, inheritance and innovation. The full, systematic, real, precise and timely information released in the annual reports can help create an opportunity for the library to communication with the outside world and set up a platform for publicity and promotion. As a piece of important historical material, the annual report witnesses the growth of library. And the publicity of library affairs also embodies the sincerity of accepting the supervision of the general public. The annual report, too, will motivate readers and librarians and inspire more philanthropic acts conducive to library development.
