As a central concept of Aristotle's Poetics,"praxis" is a kind of human practice which is driven by the inner motivation of humans to achieve their goal. The object of imitation only exists in the text level rather than on the stage. It is not only different from "kinesis" which means the actors' body movements on the stage, but also different from "dran" which refers to the manner of imitation. The Chinese translations of Poetics which often confuse these different concepts have led to the misunderstanding of Poetics and produced some other negative effects.
