摘要
在国际交往和日常生活中,英语发挥着越来越重要的作用。因此,学好英语、翻译好英语尤其重要。语言的多元化不仅存在于日常交际和使用中,在翻译领域里也十分常见。文章主要分析了语言多元化的成因及在英语翻译中的体现,在已有研究的基础上进一步从各方面挖掘翻译困难的原因,指出受文化背景、生活习惯和思维方式等方面的影响,不同译者产生的译文大相径庭,同时译者也必须根据不同的文本类型和实际需要采用不同的翻译策略和方法,翻译在中国的发展出现了新形势。
English has been playing an increasingly important role in international contact and people＇s daily life. It is critical to learn English well and create good translations of English texts. Not only does linguistic diversity exit in daily communication, it is also fre- quently observed in the field of translation. This thesis aims at analyzing various causes of linguistic diversity and its reflection in Eng- lish translation and tries to make a further research on the difficulties in doing translation. Due to the differences in cultural background, living habits and ways of thinking, different translators are very likely to produce different translations. As for different types of texts and actual need, translators are supposed to adopt specific strategies and skills. A new situation appears in the development of translation in China.
