In the western literature, many allusions, especially from Holy Bible, are used to add the literary flavor owing to their characteristics of brevity, profound connotation and vividness. Therefore, correct understanding to the allusion-containing sentences or paragraphs is quite important and becomes a main difficult point in the teaching-learning process. As far as applications are concerned in the text, allusions are divided into three groups. First, add the finishing touch to gain a concise and comprehensive effect; second, humorous and ironic; and third, start readers' imagination. Full explanation for the allusion's origin, meaning, intention and effect, not only prevent students from misunderstanding the article, but also does good to their literary appreciation. Such a teaching process can get students' English study based on the text, even broader and higher, and make it a combination of study, appreciation and application.
