The excavated celadon wares of the Yaozhou kiln in northeast China and Inner Mongolia date primarily to the Liao and Jin dynasties. Liao tombs that were buried with celadon wares were primarily distn'buted in the southeastern part of Inner Mongolia and western part of Liaoning, with the majority of them predating 1020 A.D. The types of these celadon wares include bowl, plate, ewer, cup stand, etc. Their characteristics such as shapes ,glaze color, and the ways they were loaded in kilns show that they were products from the Yaozhou kiln during the Five dynasties and Early Song dynasty. These celadon wares might have been tributes from the Five dynasties to the Liao Empire or trading commodities between these empires. In comparison with the discoveries of Liao wares, the numbers of Yaozhou wares in northeast China and Inner Mongolia dropped significantly during the Jin period, but their distribution area significantly enlarged instead. These indicate the change of distn'butional patterns and competition between different kilns during the Jin Dynasty.
