摘要 本文运用社会符号学的翻译理论,根据"功能相似,意义相符"的翻译标准,评析了《儒林外史》英译本中的指称意义的转换,从而证明了译者杨宪益夫妇深刻地领悟了原著,较成功地在译文中传递了指称意义及其信息功能。 A contrastive study was conducted between the Chinese and English versions of The Scholars to evaluate the transference of designative meaning,adopting the sociosemiotic translation principles of " similarity in function and correspondence in meaning". It is concluded that the Yangs are successful in the reproduction of designative meaning and its informative function.
