Blood cells of Takydromus amurensis, Eremias argus, Lacerta agilis and Zootoca vivip- ara were collected from hearts, counted using the tube broth method and we analyzed the compo- nents and morphology of blood cells with Wright straining method. All types of blood ceils were photographed and measured with Leica Q Win software. Erythrocyte, leucocyte and thrombocyte were encountered in blood cells. Leucocytes included heterophils, eosinophils, basophils, lym- phocytes and monocytes. Differences existed in blood cell counts, sizes and morphologies be- tween the four species. Lacerta agilis had the highest leucocyte count, high numbers of erythro- cytes, the highest percentage of leucocytes, and the longest short diameter of erythrocytes.Eremias argus had the highest erythrocyte count, fewest leucocytes and lowest percentage count of leucocytes, longest diameter of monocyte, shortest long diameter of erythrocyte and diameter of eosinophil. Takydromus amurensis had fewer erythrocytes and leucocytes, a higher ratio of long to short diameter of erythrocytes, and the longest diameter of basophils, Zootoca vivipara and Takydromus amurensis were morphologically similar, but Zootoca vivipara had shorter diame- ter of basophils. These differences might be related to their evolution status and environment in some degrees.
