The concreteness effect and emotion effect in lexical processing referred to the phenomena that concrete/emotional words' reaction time was lower and accuracy higher than abstract/neutral words. On the basis of independent researches of concreteness effect and emotion effect, the paper discussed the possibilities of the two kinds of effects canceling each other in the behavioral data and ERP components of N400 and LPC. The degree of offset results varied from experiment tasks and individual differences. The mutual influences showed more complicated mechanism.
