OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of the application of quality control circle(QCC)on the isolation of multidrug-resistant organism(MDROs)infections in ICU so as to control the occurrence of the MDROs infections.METHODS QCC group was established on Jun.2013,including eight QCC members. The activity theme was established to analyze the causes.Targets were set and corresponding improvement measures were taken.RESULTS After the QCC activity was carried out,the non-compliance rate of quarantine measures by medical staff in ICU on MDROs infections decreased from 24.30%(70/288)to 8.13%(13/160),(χ2=17.84,P〈0.01,respectively).Every member's senses of responsibility,self-confidence,abilities of communication,problem-solving ability and degree of unity and harmony were significantly increased.CONCLUSIONThe application of QCC has good efficacy in increasing the medical stuff's compliance of isolation measures to MDROs infections in ICU,and meanwhile it can improve the members' ability to participate in and solve problems. It is an effective tool for the management of hospital infections.
