As for the discourses on human nature in Xurazi, there are two arguments on human nature, one stating that man's nature is evil, another stating that it is simple and uncarved. However, the second argument has been ignored, and for those who have noticed it, few consider that it conflicts with the first one. Rokuro Kodama, a Japanese scholar, creatively uses the second argument to study the chapter of Xunzi, "Man's Nature is Evil". Some Chinese scholars take this view. In fact, these two arguments on human nature are irreconcilable. Understanding Confucian theory of human nature, we should try to get rid of stereotypes. Besides, Xunzi and Dong Zhongshu are early two representatives of the doctrine of human nature as simple and uncarved, which has been hidden by the sayings from Wang Chong. With careful and peaceful reading of their works, we can find that it is questionable to label Xunzi a representative of the doctrine that human nature is originally evil, to label Dong Zhongshu a representative of the doctrine that man's original nature is good and man's feeling is evil. There is not evidence to support Wang Chong's ideas of Dong Zhongshu's theory of human nature.
