摘要
本文选取了中美两国入选ESI工程学学科领域的147所工科排名靠前的大学,通过对其学术水平的对比分析,发现中美两国大学学术成果在数量上基本持平,但质量存在着显著的差异,可以归纳为学术水平分布的中国模式和美国模式。通过多元回归分析,本文研究了中美两国大学学术水平的影响因素,结果表明,两国研发人员、资金投入对学术产出的影响机制存在明显的差异。在量化分析的基础上,本文进一步分析影响大学学术水平的制度原因。研究结果表明,科学合理的学术评价制度和评价标准对促进学术水平的提高具有积极作用,应加强对学术成果原始创新的要求,淡化对量化指标的片面追求。
With a total of 147 best engineering universities in China and the United States in the field of ESI engineering science as the samples, the study compares their academic performance and finds out that the number of academic achievement is similar between universities in China and America, but obvious differences still lie in the quality, which can be summarized as the Chinese mode or the American mode of academic performance distribution. The influencing factors on different academic performance are explained through the multiple regression analysis, which turns out those significant differences also exist in research personnel and input funding between the two countries. The study further analyzes the institutional reasons on academic performance in higher institutes on the basis of quantitative anal- ysis, which indicates that scientific and reasonable academic evaluation system and criteria have a posi- tive impact on the improvement of academic output. Therefore we suggest putting more emphasis on academic achievement innovation but the pursuit of quantity.
