摘要
该文论述了西方传教士在晚清时期介绍和创办新式图书馆活动 ,参与中国图书馆的变革是抱着强烈的个人动机 ,具有鲜明的殖民主义色彩。但在近代特殊历史条件下 ,西方传教士在中国创办的图书馆起到了启蒙与示范作用 ,带来了西方近代图书馆建设的思想和模式 ,带来了杜威法和新式管理方式及公开、开放与共享的观念。从而在客观上对中国图书馆的近代化产生事实上的推动作用 ,促进了古代藏书楼向近代图书馆的转变。
This paper discussed that the activities of which the western missionaries had introduced and set up the new-type libraries in China and participated in the reform of the libraries in the late Qing Dynasty,existed the strongly personal motives and distinct inclination of colonialism.But in modern special historical conditions,the western missionaries had played an enlightening and exemplary role in the establishment of modern libraries in China,brought the ideal and model of the establishment of modern libraries and carried the 'DC',newer management methods and the cocepts of opening and sharing,which promoted objectively the modernization of the libraries in China and caused the transformation from the ancient storage building to the modern libraries
