β_1 adrenergic receptor is one of G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. β_1-AR gene polymorphisms are closely related to the occurrence, development and treatment of hypertension. Numerous studies have shown that β_1-AR activates the GSAC-c AMP-PKA signal pathway to regulate the blood pressure. Furthermore,β_1-AR gene polymorphisms have been shown to cause differences in blood pressure response to β-AR blockers. Researches on β_1-AR gene polymorphisms not only reveal new insight into the hypertension regulation signals, but also provide the theoretical basis and guidance for individualized clinical treatment of hypertension.
