Think again. The seeds of osteoorosis are sown during adolescence and early adulthood. Lifetime exercise habits, to a large extent, determine the depth of the problem during aging.In osteoporosis, bone mass is so low that evenminor trauma cancause farcture--most commonly in the hip, spine, and wrist. It is a major public health problem that affects morethan 25 million Americans,80 percent d whom are women. It is linked with more than 1.5 million fractures a year.
