Anti-corruption has become an important issue of Chinese politics since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Do social media have the power of engaging citizens in politics and constructing a public anti-corruption space? From analyzing the discussion quality of cases on the six corrupt officials, this paper finds that official media is the most influential opinion leader on microblogs; there exist obvious 'anti-corruption information' gap on microblogs; information diffusion is subject to the rank of the officials; the movement-like anti-corruption on microblogs has difficulty in reaching the system level instead of personal level, and pleasure is the main emotion in news discourses. Generally speaking, social media are more like a discrete space rather than a convergence space for expressing anti-corruption ideas. This is also a unique feature of 'Chinese Anti-corruption' reflected on the cyberspace in the transforming process of Chinese society.
