An Investigation Report on the Engineering Literacy of Universities Students in Shanghai

摘要 如何在全社会范围内提高公民工程素养,积极面对工程实施中的责任关怀、邻避效应等问题,已经成为各国政府、社会、企业和大学必须共同面对的问题。本课题组从工程知识、工程能力、工程意识、工程伦理4个维度对上海市9所不同类型高校的1800名在校大学生的工程素养进行了问卷调查。数据分析表明,上海大学生的工程素养总体较高,其中工程伦理水平最高,工程知识与工程能力水平比较高,而工程意识相对薄弱。通过回归分析发现学校层次、学生性别、学科类别、父母受教育程度以及家庭年收入都对学生工程素养水平有显著的正向或负向影响。最后提出了提升我国公民、特别是大学生工程素养的对策建议。 It has become a common issue, which is faced by national governments, society, enterprises and universities, of how to improve the engineering literacy in our society, and positively confront the re- sponsible care and the effect of Not-In-My-Back-Yard (NIMBY). A questionnaire survey was conduc- ted among 1,800 students in 9 different types of universities in Shanghai to get the general situation of university students' engineering literacy from the perspective of engineering knowledge, engineering capability, engineering consciousness and engineering ethics. The data analysis shows that the univer- sity students of Shanghai have relatively high engineering literacy in general. In detail, the students have the highest engineering ethics, comparatively high engineering knowledge and engineering capa- bility, while they have relatively weak engineering consciousness. The results of regression analysis indicate that university level, gender, subject category, educational levels of their parents and house- hold income have a significant positive or negative effect on university students~ engineering literacy. Some approaches are proposed to improve the engineering literacy of citizens, especially the university students.
