Objective To observe the clinical effects of acupoint application on the treatment of acute gouty arthritis. Methods 80 patients with acute gouty arthritis were randomly divided into two groups. 40 cases in control group were treated by celecoxib capsule,40 cases in treatment group were treated by acupoint application on the basis of control group treatment. The curative effect was evaluated after 10 d treatment in two groups. The arthralgia, arthrocele, limitation of motion, constitutional symptoms scores before and after treatment were compared in two groups, and the pain relief time and curative effect were evaluated. The blood uric acid(BUA),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),c-reaction protein(CRP) before and after treatment were measured in two groups. Results The total effective rate in treatment group(92. 5%) was superior to that in control group(82. 5%,P〈0.05). The scores of arthralgia, arthrocele, limitation of motion, constitutional symptoms, the levels of ESR and CRP after treatment were decreased in two groups(P〈0.05),and the scores in treatment group were lower than control group. The pain relief time in treatment group was obviously shorter than control group, with statistical differences(P〈0.05). Conclusion On the basis of celecoxib capsule treatment, combined with acupoint application on the treatment of acute gouty arthritis can obviously improve clinical symptoms, reduce dose of delecoxib, safe and reliable, have some value in clinical application.
