摘要
将余国藩和詹奈尔翻译的《西游记》进行比较的话,可以从归化和异化的翻译理论出发。詹奈尔的翻译对策是将归化作为主线,而异化作为辅线,对《西游记》进行翻译,继承原著文化,并受到部分读者的欢迎。而余国藩则是相反的翻译对策,他将异化作为翻译主线,归化视为翻译辅线,并在文中做好标注,有利于读者进行阅读理解,便于传播文化知识。通过分析比较,在翻译《西游记》具有较多文化负载词部分时,翻译者可以将异化翻译对策为主,而归化翻译对策为辅,并将两者翻译相互结合。
This paper focuses on domestication and foreignization translation of the cultural content in The Journey to the west, translated by mainly Yu Guofan and Jane]. The translation strategy of Janel is the domestication, with alienation as the supporting skills, therefore his translation inherits the original culture, and is welcomed by some readers; and Yu Guofan, on the contrary, uses alienation as a main translation strategy while domestication as the supporting skills. In his version, notes are made for a better understanding and spread of the Chinese culture. By comparison, in translating the cultural contents in The Journey to the West, the translators can mainly use the alienation, with the domestication as a supporting means.
