Objective To explore the clinical effect of microvascular decompression in the treatment of recurrent facial spasm. Methods 80 cases of patients with facial spasm admitted to our hospital from February 2014 to February 2016 were selected and randomlydivided into conventional group and treatment group. The conventional group received traditional facial neurotomy, while the treatmentgroup received microvascular decompression. After treatment, the total effective rate, recurrence rate and incidence of adverse reactions werecompared between two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 97.50%, significantly higher than 85.00% ofconventional group, with statistical difference (P 〈0.05). The recurrence rate and incidence of adverse reactions of treatment group weresignificantly lower than those of conventional group, with statistical differences (P〈0.05). Conclusions Microvascular decompression in thetreatment of facial spasm has significant curative effect, with lower recurrence rate and incidence of adverse reactions and high safety, whichis worthy of clinical application and promotion.
