摘要
目的探析专门用途英语(ESP)视角下陕西省某医学院校大学英语教学改革存在的问题,并提出优化ESP教学的策略。方法在ESP理论指导下,2016年5月4~6日通过问卷调查和访谈的方式获取陕西省某医学院校在大学英语教学改革中存在的问题。问卷调查主要涉及学生的学习需求、学习动机及学生对课程设置的看法、对医学英语教材的看法、对教师教学方法的看法等。结果学生对医学英语不够重视、ESP课程设置不合理、教材针对性不强、ESP师资匮乏。结论为达到社会对这一复合型、应用型人才的要求,可以通过增加医学英语学分,优化课程设置,选择有针对性、难易适中的教材,加强ESP师资队伍建设和采用灵活多样的教学方法来进一步完善和优化ESP教学。
Objective To explore the existing problems concerning college English teaching reform of a medical university in Shaanxi province from the perspective of ESP, and put forward strategies to optimize ESP teaching. Methods The problems of college English teaching reform were collected through questionnaire and interview under the guidance of ESP theory in 4~(th)to 6~(th)May 2016. The questionnaire mainly involved students learning needs, students learning motivation, students opinion on the curriculum, students opinion on the textbook, students opinion on teaching method, etc..Results The findings included students not paying much attention to medical English, unreasonable setting of ESP course, untargeted textbook, lack of ESP teachers. Conclusion In order to meet the social demands for compound-applied talents, the main approaches to perfecting and optimizing ESP teaching include increasing medical English credits, optimizing course settings, choosing appropriate textbook, strengthening the construction of ESP faculty team and adopting flexible and diverse teaching methods.
