摘要
为了解决大数据量的图像信息给存储器存储容量、通信信道带宽和计算机处理速度带来的压力,必须对图像进行压缩处理。提出了一种基于小波变换和人类视觉系统的图像压缩算法用以提高对高质量图像的压缩效果。该算法首先使用小波滤波器选择模型及最佳滤波器以得到最小数目的非零小波系数。其次,利用人类视觉系统特性对分解后的小波系数进行有效的量化处理,最终进行小波编码,实现对图像的压缩。实验结果表明,所提出的算法对高质量图像进行压缩所达到的效果要优于传统压缩算法。
In order to solve the large amount of data of the image information to the storage capacity and communication channel bandwidth and speed of computer processing pressure,it is necessary to compress the image processing. To improve the high-quality image compression effect,a novel image compression algorithm based on the wavelet transform and the human visual system( HVS) is proposed in the paper. It firstly applies the wavelet filter to select the best filter that would result in the smallest number of non-zero coefficients by using the filter selection module. Then,wavelet coefficients and encoding based on the HVS are used to implement the image compression which makes the novel image compression algorithm. The results indicate that the novel image compression algorithm proposed in the paper achieves a better result than that of the traditional compression technique.
