The power takeoff is a medium for transmitting the torque. It is fitted on the end of the engine flywheel or the transmission out-put end to transfer torque through gear meshing. The design, verification process and installation principle of a power takeoff which was suitablefor heavy automatic transmission were discussed. The power takeoff comes with clutch; relying on hydraulic separation and combination, it issuitable for a variety of special vehicles. It provides reference for similar development.
