摘要
在过去30年,实验方法的崛起为政治学研究掀起了一场方法论的革命。在此背景下,本文回顾了实验政治学几个核心的方法论问题:(1)与观察性研究相比,实验研究在因果推论方面有何优势;(2)政治学者如何做实验研究来保障这一优势;(3)如何评价实验政治研究的效度;(4)实验方法用于政治学研究有何局限与挑战。笔者认为,一旦弄清实验方法的这些基本特征,政治学者便可充分利用其优势、克服其局限,以此作为理解政治现象的研究利器。
During the past three decades, the rise of experimental method has set off a methodological revolution in political science. Given the flourish of promoting experimental political science, this paper reviews several fundamental methodological questions, including:(1) compared with the observational study, what advantages the experimental study enjoys for causal inference;(2) how to design and implement experimental political study to ensure valid causal inference;(3) how to evaluate the experimental political study;and(4) what are the limitations and challenges for studying political science with experimental methods. This paper argues that, after going through these basic dimensions of experimental method, political scientists can better make use of its advantages and overcome the shortcomings for understanding political phenomenon.
