摘要
本文采用主位推进理论,对中国高中英语学习者和同龄英国本族语者议论文的语篇连贯特征进行对比分析,发现中国高中英语学习者和本族语者的主位推进模式存在显著差异,前者以跳跃型和平行型为主,后者以延续型为主。通过量化对比和案例分析,本文发现上述差异缘于英汉两民族在思维层面的不同时空偏好,中国高中英语学习者语篇连贯迁移特征昭示了汉语的块状性和离散性结构迁移。
Applying the thematic progression theory, this paper conducts a contrastive analysis of the coherence features in argumentative essays by Chinese secondary learners and British native speakers of the same age. Significant differences have been found between the two groups. While the sprung type and the constant type prevail in Chinese learners' writing, the linear type is predominant in native speakers'. Through statistical contrast and in-depth case analysis, this paper concludes that such differences originate from the English people's preference for temporality and Chinese people's preference for spatiality in their thinking modes, as demonstrated by the transfer of discrete and chunky characteristics from Chinese onto English.
