摘要
文章以话语标记语为研究对象,重点讨论它们在开始发话过程中的语用功能。以The Colbert Report为研究语料,分析了话语标记语的四种语用功能:话题转换标记功能、承上标记功能、延缓标记功能、修正标记功能。该研究有助于深入了解话语标记语在交际中的作用,提高交际的有效性。
The paper focused on the pragmatic functions of discourse markers in the process of taking the turn. Through the analysis of The Colbert Report, it found that discourse markers function as markers to transfer topics, to link the present turn with the preceding one, to delay for the sake of gaining time for organizing thoughts, and to repair mistakes and misunderstandings. This study might help to give insight into the functions of discourse markers in daily communication, and improve the effectiveness of interaction.
