摘要
历史上,美国华裔在美国的发展中起着重要作用,但是其政治参与与其经济实力之间长期存在某种不对称的现象。受中国传统政治文化的影响和制约,国内学术界长期存在重实力轻话语的传统,对话语在西方政治生活中的重要性未予以充分重视,探讨政治参与及话语策略方面的研究尚付阙如。学术关注度的不足,导致美国华裔在政治参与的实践上缺乏系统的理论指导。对西方民主运转和话语机制的缺位认知,导致美国华裔长期处于沉默一族的"哑裔"状态,难以在整体上有效维护合法权益。对西方民主话语机制与话语策略的揭示,不仅有助于美国华裔从话语上整合美国华裔力量,使其自觉地成为美国政治社会中一个不可或缺的整体政治有机体,而且对于提升华人在世界范围的形象认知和我国的文化软实力有着重要意义。
Chinese American have played an important role in American development. Howev-er, there exists an unsymmetrical phenomenon between their economic power and politicalparticipation. Contained by Chinese traditional political culture, there has been a correspond-ing tradition in domestic academic fields, a tradition that has stressed inner power and de-spised discourse for a long time. Therefore, the importance of discourse in western politicshas long been neglected and relevant research on the relationship between political participa-tion and discourse strategies has been not adequate. Inadequate academic focus led to theawkward fact that Chinese American have no theoretical guidance when they try to get in-volved in politics in America. The tacit status of Chinese American in American politics hasclose relationship with their having no clear picture of western political and discourse mecha-nisms. The depiction of western democratic discourse mechanism and discourse strategies willhelp Chinese American integrate their power and maintain their legal rights. More thanthat, with the rising and improved social status, the image of Chinese and the soft powerof China will be enhance.
