摘要
在比较文学与世界文学学科发展的理论和方法的关系上 ,陈等主编的《比较文学概论》中的“比较文学”定义有不绵密之处 ;范伯群等主编的《中外文学比较史》中对歌德的“世界文学”言论的阐释游移不定 ;雷马克所罗列的“比较文学”与“世界文学”之间的细密差异未必尽然 ;约斯特把“比较文学”看成是“有机的世界文学”的说法过于主观。从国内目前比较文学与世界文学研究现状看 ,“自觉的比较意识”从理论和方法上刻意的提出 ,并非仅仅是比较文学学科存在与发展的需要 ,同样也是世界文学学科存在与发展的必然要求。其实 ,后者不但理应如此 ,而且本该如此 。
Defects and improprieties exist in studies on the relationship between theory and method concerning the development of comparative literature and world literature: the definition given to 'comparative literature' in An Introduction to Comparative Literature edited by Chen Dun is not strict and vigorous enough; the exposition of Goethe's remarks on 'world literature' in Fan Boqun's Comparative History of Chinese and Foreign Literature is wavering and drifting; the nuances between 'comparative literature' and 'world literature' listed by Remak are not entirely true; and Jost's claim that 'comparative literature' is the 'organic world literature' is all too subjective. Considering the present domestic situation of the research on comparative and world literature, the purposeful proposal of the 'self-conscious comparative consciousness' stressing both theory and method is not just out of the requirement for the survival and development of comparative literature, but for that of world literature as well. In effect, the latter has long been neglected by the learned world though it should not be and should not have been.
