Spinel type complex oxide nanocrystalline powders ZnFe 2O 4 was synthesized by solid state reaction at room temperature with inorganic reagent. The results from XRD and TEM indicate that the solid state reaction was complete and the mean grain size of the powder was about 30nm. The gas sensing properties of the pure powders were studied. The results reveal that the sensors based on ZnFe 2O 4 show a high sensitivity and selectivity to H 2S at low working temperature.
