摘要
《论语·八佾》中的"吾从周"一语标志着孔子的精神方向。孔子"从周"究竟"从"了什么,这不仅关乎儒家思想的渊源,而且关涉中国文化的进路。对"从周"含义的理解不能仅局限于文本角度的章句考训,还应从当时的历史背景和孔子的整个思想体系来进行探赜。从章句考训看,孔子"从周"之义不是遵从广义的周代礼乐制度,而是遵从"周之文章",即周礼中维护社会秩序的等级制度;从《论语》所映现的孔子思想体系看,作为与时偕行的"圣之时者",孔子追从的不是崩溃中的奴隶制度,而是周礼之礼乐精神和周公的"德治""德教"思想。孔子在周礼和周公思想的基础上,构建了儒家的伦理思想体系,奠定了中国文化"大传统"的坚实根基。
In the Analects Confucius said "Wu Cong Zhou", that is "I adhere to Zhou", which marked Confucius~ spiritual direction. What Confucius meant by "Cong Zhou" concerns not only the origin of Confucianism but also the direc- tion of Chinese culture. To understand the implication of "Cong Zhou", one should not be confined to explaining the sen- tence in the text, but also study the historical background and Confucius~ whole thought system. According to the text, the meaning of Confucius~ Cong Zhou is not to follow the ritual system of the Zhou Dynasty, but keep the hierarchy in Zhou rites to protect the social order. From Confucius~ thought system embodied by the Analects, Confucius, as a man keeping up with the times, followed the ritual spirit of Zhou rites, Zhou Gong's rule of virtue thought and moral educa- tion idea, instead of the slavery in the crash. Based on Zhou rites and Zhou Gong's thought, Confucius constructed the system of Confucian ethics and established a solid foundation for the great tradition of Chinese culture.
