Analysis of Chloroplast Genomes in 1342 Plants

摘要 叶绿体是植物进行光合作用的主要场所,是生命活动的能量之泉,由于其结构简单,且通过母系遗传,正逐渐成为研究热点。本研究通过统计分析,对美国国立生物技术信息中心(national center of biotechnology information,NCBI)上已公布的叶绿体基因组信息(截止到2016年10月31日),特别是植物叶绿体基因组信息进行了整理,发现目前全世界有242家研究单位正致力于叶绿体基因组研究,他们的研究对象多达200个科属。对公布的植物叶绿体基因组进行分析,发现它们的长度主要集中在140~160 kb,GC含量多为35%~40%,编码80~100个基因。叶绿体基因组研究已经进入崭新的阶段,对叶绿体基因组的深入研究,必将帮助我们更快、更深入地认识、利用和保护植物。 Chloroplast is the main site for the photosynthesis in plants,, and it is the energy spring of life activities.Chloroplast is becoming the research hotspot worldwide because of its simple structure and maternal inheritance characteristics. In this study, information of chloroplast genomes published before October 31, 2016, especially the plant chloroplast genomes, was obtained from the National Center for Biotechnology Information for analysis.Through statistical methods, we found that there were already 242 research units all over the world were studying with chloroplasts, and plants in more than 200 families had been studied. The analysis of the published chloroplast genomes showed that their length was mainly concentrated in 140-160, kb, GC content was more than 35%-40%,and encoded 80-100 genes. Chloroplast genome research has entered a new stage. Further study of the chloroplast genome might help us understand, utilize and protect plants more quickly and deeply.
