摘要
本研究以社会文化理论为框架,将移动学习环境下的即时文本交流与传统面对面交流进行比较,以语言形式片段(LRE)为单位对语言形式聚焦进行分析。36名非英语专业二年级学生参与了本研究,他们结对在移动学习与面对面学习两种学习模式下完成听写重构任务。结果显示,移动学习模式下LRE的频率更高。对LRE的性质进一步分析发现,移动学习模式下拼写、正确解决及自我修正的LRE比重更大。对学生问卷结果的分析表明,移动学习更有利于语言形式聚焦。本文分析了两种学习模式对形式聚焦产生不同影响的原因,并指出,移动学习模式更有利于学生在交互中注意语言的使用。
This paper aims to explore the impact of mobile learning on focus on form. The study follows synchronous text-based communication,one mode of mobile-based communication,which is compared with traditional face-to-face communication. Motivated by Sociocultural Theory,focus on form in this study is instantiated by Language-Related Episodes( LREs). 36 Chinese EFL students at tertiary level participated in this study and performed two dictogloss tasks in dyads in both Mobile Learning( ML) and Face to Face( F2 F) settings. Results suggested that ML produced more frequent LREs than F2 F. The results also revealed some between-mode differences in the nature of LREs: ML mode produced more frequent Spelling LREs,Correctly-Resolved LREs and Self-Repair LREs than F2 F mode. Students' responses in the questionnaire corroborate the positive effect of mobile learning on focus on form.
