Millet bran is rich in cellulose and hemicellulose. It is a large-scale renewable resource and an important source of dietary fiber. However, the application of corn bran in sows is rarely reported. In order to study the effects of millet bran on the behavior of pregnant sows, serum biochemical indexes and reproductive hormones, a total of 32 Yorkshire-Landrace sows with similar breeding time and body conditions were randomly divided into control group, experimental group I, experimental group ]l and experimental group i, with 8 replicates in each group, limiting bar feeding. Millet bran adding lev- el was 0%, 9%, 17% and 24.5%, each of the digestible energy and crude protein are basically the same. The results showed as follows:① dietary millet bran decreased the biting behavior (P〈0.05), licking be- havior and standing time (P〈0.01), and increased the lying time (P〈0.05) in the early stage of pregnan- cy. ② decrease serum total cholesterol (P〈0.01), estradiol content (P〈0.05), increase progesterone con- tent (P〈0.01). The experiment research shows that millet bran diets in early pregnancy sows increased sows lying rest time, reduce the bite bar, increased the stereotyped behavior, reduce serum cholesterol levels and estradiol levels, increased progesterone content, was useful for endometrial hyperplasia, im- plantation of a fertilized egg, and lower uterus muscle excitability, ensure the safety of pregnancy.
